Over the last several years we have increasingly been fascinated by amphora and what they represent in the human story across many thousands of years. From the ice age to China, the Russian steps, throughout the Mediterranean world, Africa, India, and even in the Americas amphorae have been ubiquitous objects of commerce and often of majestic beauty.
Long before global trade was so designated or multiculturalism became an identifiable reality, amphora represented the communication between tribes and civilisations across the globe. They merit both celebration, reinterpretation and creation anew.
