Amphore Metaphore

We have long played with classical shapes, gradually morphing into amphorae, amphorae in boats, on hanging frames, and extravagantly adapted into symbolic forms apart for over twenty-five years. These forms have been a fundamental part of our aesthetic. Their variations are endless and more particularly they are timeless.

In an age in which there is no past and almost no present, but incessantly a future, we wanted to remember what we are doing, to feel the history behind our efforts, to celebrate where we come from, as individuals and as part of a cultural community around our world.

This exhibition shares a past and our interpretation of it. No past? No future. Who and what we are is grounded in that past, where we have been, where we are going, and what we will become.
